[08 Spr‧洛杉磯] 念念不忘的越南麵 Pho Bo Vang

苦主出來啦!ㄟ….,那家叫什麼,我還真不知ㄋㄟ!!!不過真的是粉好吃!去年回巴黎時又回去吃
了!台北真的找不到好甲又便宜的越南河粉!現在如果要省點錢,只好買機票去越南原產地吃囉!(比
起回美國,法國)嘻嘻

Vientnamese has "eggroll" and "springroll". "Eggroll" is deep
fried and crispy with taro, ground meat, bean sprout etc
inside. "Springroll" has pork or shrimp and lettuce inside
with clear wet rice wrapping but not deep fried, like your
photo. They call it "(Shrimp) Springroll" But these may
confuse Chinese. One time I saw a old Chinese couple agrued
with owner for a long time why they ordered "Springroll" but
received the "Shrimproll". The owner told them these
were "Springroll" they ordered but they kept saying not what
they ordered. In TW, we call the crispy and deep fried one
as "Springroll" and that is why the old couple thought
the "Springroll" on Vietnamese menu is the crispy and deep
fried one.

Thanks for your clarify~
Now I know what's different b/w “eggroll” & “springroll”
I will not keep saying “This is not springroo!” “This is not springroll!”
when I go to Vientnamese restaurant next time.
haha…. 😛
